At Calvary Christian School, we are committed to providing our students with every opportunity to grow both spiritually and academically. Through our partnership with Cape Fear Community College, eligible high school students (11th-12th grade) can begin their college journey early, earning high school and college credits that honor their hard work while remaining rooted in our Christ-centered community.
What Is Dual Enrollment?
Dual enrollment allows our high school students to take college-level courses through CFCC while still completing their high school diploma at Calvary. These courses count for both high school and college credit, helping students steward their time and talents effectively. As a reflection of our mission, this program challenges students to achieve academic excellence under the guidance of both CCS and CFCC instructors.
Benefits for Students & Families
Families at Calvary benefit significantly from dual enrollment. College tuition is waived for eligible students, and their overall cost of higher education is reduced dramatically the more courses they take while in high school. Theoretically, if they work hard, they could finish two full years of college and earn an Associates Degree while at Calvary! Students gain a head start on their future careers while maintaining the supportive, biblical environment they have at CCS. This transition helps build the confidence and discipline needed for a life dedicated to knowing Christ and making Him known in the workforce or higher education.
How to Get Started
Students and parents should first meet with our college advisors to ensure they meet the eligibility requirements. We encourage families to pray about this opportunity, seeking God's wisdom in balancing high school responsibilities with college-level rigor. Once approved, our team will assist you through the CFCC application process to ensure a smooth and successful transition into the program. Students are advised on which classes they should take to achieve their college and career goals, but are also limited as to how many classes they take each semester to avoid scheduling conflicts and burn-out while balancing their other high school classes.
